Brad Wiles Publishes Work on Archival Studies Topics and Presents at International Conference

Brad Wiles, Head of the Special Collections and Archives Department, recently published an article called “User Participation in Archival Knowledge Structures: Archival Description as Domain and Testing Ground,” in Libri: International Journal of Library and Information Studies. The article presents a critical analysis of disciplinary discussions related to user-generated contributions to institutional metadata and archival description practices online. Brad also published a review of Archives and Special Collections as Sties of Contestation (Mary Kandiuk, ed.) in RBM: A Journal of Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Cultural Heritage. In addition, Brad presented at the 8th International Conference of the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism at University College Cork in Ireland. His paper “An Illumination of Nothing: Archives, Esoteric Knowledge, and Existential Doom in the Weird Fiction of Thomas Ligotti” will be published with the conference proceedings later this year.
