Nora Jimenez, Special Collections and Archives Department Senior Library Specialist, recently completed an 8-week internship program at Loras College’s Center for Dubuque History in Dubuque, Iowa. The internship program was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and allowed Nora to be onsite and fully immersed in the collections. During the internship, Nora gained firsthand experience processing, preserving, and creating metadata for both physical and digital archives collections and produced an online exhibit from the personal papers of Dubuque artist and activist Louise Halliburton. Nora also co-wrote a grant application to Humanities Iowa for an exhibit titled “From Dubuque to the Big Leagues: Selections from the John Fox Baseball Collection” held at Loras College’s Miller Academic Resource Center.
