BookLab Presentation at Huskie Trek Talks Secures New Funding

Please join us in congratulating Beth McGowan and Melissa Adams-Campbell on their successful presentation at this year’s Huskie Trek Talks: Ideas in Motion. Their talk showcased the BookLab’s role in fostering hands-on learning and strengthening students’ critical thinking, while emphasizing the importance of using AI as a tool rather than a substitute for student voice.

Hosted by the NIU Foundation, Huskie Trek Talks brings together faculty, staff and students to share innovative research and creative work, with selected projects receiving grant funding and additional support.

As a result of their presentation, the BookLab was awarded funding for a graduate assistant for FY 2027, along with a grant to further support the lab’s work.
