Kimberly Shotick, Assistant Professor and Student Success Librarian at the University Libraries, has co-authored the book Practical Marketing for the Academic Library with Stephanie Espinoza Villamor. Their book details the processes involved in successful academic library marketing from creating a marketing team to assessing outcomes. The book contains case studies from a variety of academic libraries to illustrate best practices at work. Professor Mark Aaron Polger, founder and Editor in Chief of Marketing Libraries Journal, writes “This practical guide offers a holistic examination of how marketing can be applied to academic libraries. Villamor and Shotick incorporate ideas not included in other library marketing books such as empathy, diversity, equity, and inclusion, all within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic…A very engaging and interesting read. Highly recommended!”
Shotick and Villamor will present Academic Library Marketing 101: Identifying Priorities, Creating a Budget, and Tailoring your Message at a free Niche Academy webinar on June 8, 2022.
