A logistical problem for the NIU Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) turned into a valuable partnership with the University Libraries that will preserve CGS documents and make them more readily accessible to readers around the world. The NIU Libraries’ Huskie Commons – a digital repository to collect, preserve, and provide access to the scholarly and artistic works created by the NIU community – now hosts the center’s policy profiles, white papers and other reports.
These documents from CGS, which is part of the NIU Division of Outreach, Engagement and Regional Development, are housed alongside documents from every NIU college and division. Graduate student theses and dissertations, university honors program capstone projects, faculty research articles and undergraduate research posters are all part of what promises to become a comprehensive digital collection of NIU research and artistry.
