As of July 2022, the NIU Libraries provide access to Academic Video Online (AVON). This resource includes over 79,000 streaming videos on a wide variety of topics, from business to health to music. Many are from familiar producers like PBS, Film Platform, BBC, CNN, A&E, PBS, 60 Minutes, Bloomberg, Sony Pictures Classics, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and more. AVON includes some content you may be familiar with because we had access through our Alexander Street collections. Contact your library subject specialist if you have questions about particular topics.
To access these videos, go to https://libguides.niu.edu/avon. Search by keywords or browse by channel or collection. They are also available through HuskieSearch. AVON is listed on our Databases A-Z list. Videos are available for streaming worldwide to anyone with a current NIU ID and account.
